IOWA TAXPAYERS KICKED OUT OF THEIR OWN STATE CAPITOL

MUSCATINE, IA—Last night, Iowans for Tax Relief, stood strong with 600+ Iowa taxpayers at the State Capitol to participate in a public hearing concerning proposed legislation that would repeal federal deductibility in Iowa. Federal deductibility allows Iowans the ability to deduct the taxes they pay to the federal government on their state income tax form.

Halfway through the public hearing, Speaker of the House, Pat Murphy (D-Dubuque) ordered State Troopers to escort the public out of the House Chambers.

Ed Failor, Jr., President of Iowans for Tax Relief added this today, "Last night one employee kicked out 600 of his employers. Hundreds of Iowans traveled from all parts of our state to support federal deductibility and keep the politicians from raiding the family budget once again, only to be thrown out of their own House."

Dozens of speakers represented the crowd, reiterating the message, “No Tax on a Tax”.

You can see our commercial, video, read news clips and hear audio from the proceedings at our web site at http://www.taxrelief.org/pages/media.
